Olnethril Dreamweaver

Olnethril is an ancient poetess of Nirth whose name means “Dreamweaver.” Her most celebrated volume of poetry, titled At Midnight, Glories Dance, is comprised of poems praising the beauty of the night sky. She did not title any of her poems, so later readers refer to each poem by its first line.

i will probably not complete a full volume of her poetry, but the following are selections from At Midnight.

When flash the stars in deepest night

When flash the stars in deepest night—
The heralds of light in profoundest dark,
The sons of sun proclaiming day,
Defying gloom to prophesy dawn—
When flash the stars in deepest night,
All darkness of soul,
all terror unknown,
all mewling sorrow
Fall away.
